The last meeting of the VHS for 2011 was held on the 7th December 2011 at the Prahran RSL - 301 High Street Prahran. The speakers were Ollie Sherlock, Russell Grant and Brian Barnett

The last meeting of the VHS was held on the 21st Setember 2011 at the Prahran RSL - 301 High Street Prahran. The speaker was David Kirshner - who entertained us with a couple of talks on the care and husbandry of monitors.

8 December 2010 (AGM)

Dr Sean Doody gained both his Bachelor and Masters in Science degrees at universities in Louisiana, USA, before moving to Australia and completing a Ph. D. through the University of Canberra. Sean was one of two speakers at our AGM. The other speaker was Dr Franciscus Scheelings from The Healesville Sanctuary.

Heath Butler & Kwai Chang-Kum are both keen naturalists, who have been keeping captive reptiles for more than 15 years. Kwai is a Keeper at Werribee Open Range Zoo and Heath has a degree in zoology, with a particular leaning towards the ecology of elapid snakes. Ryan Hart is new to Victoria, he is now employed as a senior reptile keeper by Zoos Victoria at Melbourne Zoo.

The 2009 AGM features a talk from Jane Melville from Museum Victoria. Jane's research interests combine field studies with a variety of molecular genetic analyses to study population biology, systematics, evolutionary ecology, and speciation in reptiles and amphibians.
